I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. I do not hear anything from across the hall, nor anything from downstairs, since no one lives there, yet. But I hear noises from all over the neighborhood, in the street, everywhere, through the closed windows. There aren't any storm windows, either. I think the walls do not have insulation in them.
