Apartment Advice - illegally locked out a...

been living here 4 months although my name is not on the lease i have occupied and paid rent on time every month. my roommate went to a half way house 2 days before i could move. the property manager has just changed the locks at 8 am and kicked me and my son out.... the police were there and allowed this to go on.. the manager did file for an eviction because my room mate failed to pay her rent. the eviction however is not up until 24 hours from the time he kicked us out.. what can i do... please help
