My landlord broke the lock to my front door.

I asked her to take a look at it because it was acting kind of sketchy (but, at the time, i was still able to lock it). She put her key in it and twisted numerous times. Ever since, we haven't been able to lock the door at all. This was 5 months ago. I have called her many times asking her to fix it and every times she says, "Oh, it should be done this week, if it's not give me a call back." Again and again for 5 months. Never done. My lease is now up in less than a month and I'm moving out-there are other problems as well. Should I even try to get the lock fixed anymore? Is it worth the headache? Do you think I could get my deposit back from the lock being broken for 5 months and our oven being broken for 10 months?

Yes it is, some managers forget a lot. I worked with one at a sister property. We shared a maintence guy, and she always forgot to tell him this or that for me. Sit there at the office or even when you see a maintence guy approach him (dont be mean) and explain too him that the lock on my front door is broken. has the manager asked you too fix this yet . It needs too be done it is not safe. Its your front door, but guess what someone breaks in takes your property it is your fault, you have no back up not statements and get a maintence slip in writing from her stating day he is coming. They HAVE TOO WRITE IT ALL DOWN. Everything.
