can you get out of a lease if you have signed the lease but your cosigner (parents) have not signed the lease? is it still a binding contract?

I signed the lease for an apartment, but I found out too late how awful the management and building actually were. I have not rented an apartment before so the lease required my parents' signature, they have not signed the lease yet. They don't want me to live at this building for safety reasons and I am not sure that I can get out of the lease without having to pay a grand. HELP!

If your landlord says they require a co-signer, then I would tell them that your parents won't sign because they want you to stay at home with the dogs and your new baby. Your landlord could also change their mind and say "your fine" without the cosigner, in which your signing the lease alone is valid (as long as your older than 18). Good luck.
