I want to know if the apts I live in now can chagre me a full month rent. They are letting me out of my lease early. can they do this?

I have been having issue with bed bugs since last summer. now leasing office say they will let me out of my lease apprx 1 month early but they will not prorate for the month of april is this legal?

Do you have a signed lease agreement detailing clearly the beginning and ending dates of your lease? If so, I would get paper work from them stating they are letting you out of the lease early due to bed bugs. Have the new release date on the paper they sign, then when it's time to pay rent for your last month, only pay the time you will be there.
