True to LA culture, the dining options in the neighborhood are unique: a local favorite, Cravings is just outside the apartment complex and serves up fresh ingredients in a trendy environment; Blvd 16 is up the street and is recommended for work lunches or even late-night meet ups. A variety of grocers in the area are all under 2 miles from the complex including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Nijiya Market, and Nathan's Kosherland. Tenants have complained about the lengthy construction on the pool and BBQ deck. However, reviews from March 2013 have confirmed that all renovations are complete and satisfactory. Atrium Court sits on Strathmore Drive, in Westwood, directly adjacent to the University of Calfornia – Los Angeles campus. As such, it might be the ideal choice for students who are looking. Tenants are a mere 15 minutes from the ocean at Santa Monica, and can commute to other parts of the city merely by hopping on nearby Interstate 405. Some renter reviews felt maintenance was difficult to work with at times. But, there were positive reviews making light of these shortcomings and describing the management as accommodating. Midvale Plaza II is located right off the University of California – Los Angeles campus, and, as such, is ideal for student housing. There are reviews which describe this place unfavorably, and renters who are dissatisfied with the maintenance. However, one review from early 2013 reports that since new management took over, the place is quite clean, offers a great pool/spa, and free Internet. Plus, this place is right on campus. And, in a short 10-15 minutes, residents can be at the beach. And, there are Interstates 405 & 10 nearby, so the renter can reach other points in Los Angeles with ease. Kelton Plaza sits right next to the University of California – Los Angeles campus, just off of Interstate 405. Not far are several establishments renters may find appealing, including Lucia’s Pizza, Sepi’s, Diddy Riese, Bruin Theater, and the Gypsy Café. Some reviewers complained that amenities were costly, and noise is a problem at the complex. However, there are many reviewers who spoke more positively about Kelton Plaza; stating that the management gets stuff done, and maintenance follows through on any and all requests. Westwood Village sits on Hilgard Avenue, practically on the University of California – Los Angeles campus. In addition to the perks of living close to campus, Westwood tenants can be at the beach in just 10-15 minutes. So, the location is almost ideal. Right down the street is a 7-Eleven, A Delphi Greek, Damoka, Paris Bakery, Starbucks, and Bank of America, just to mention a few. There are a few reviewers that feel the grounds and parking could be safer or better-lit.
