Top Of The Hill has been rated highly in reviews. Though the apartments are a bit dated and have some noise at times it is overall considered a nice place to stay. Reviewers also like the close proximity to downtown, especially nearby features such as the Collins Fine Art, Farmer’s Market, and Fish Ladder Sculpture. 47 Lafayette is in a wonderful location for those who enjoy dining out. There are many options for tenants when it comes to cuisine in the area including Louis Benton Steak House, Cottage Bar, and Barter Town Diner. This area is historically rich with museums, including Grand Rapids Art Museum, Van Andel Museum Center, and City of Grand Rapids Museum. Saint Mary’s Health Care Center is in the area for medical care. There have been some concerns regarding this complex, as some reviewers believe the building is in need of exterior updates. The maintenance also proves to be a source of frustration, as they are not always as prompt as some residents would like.
