Melwood Center Complex is located in the Oakland/Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. People like its proximity to Pitt, CMU and other local college housing. Rent is reasonable for the area, ranging from the low 600’s to mid 700’s for 1 Bedrooms. Some have complained in years past about the management company, so be sure to get everything in writing. Claybourne Apartments are located in the sought after Shadyside area, within close proximity to countless restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. Claybourne Apartments offer many luxuries to renters, some being a workout facility, parking garage, storage space, and newly remodeled kitchens. Apartments are one bedroom, one bath or two bedrooms, two baths, and rent for $875-$1270 dollars per month, which is extremely reasonable in such a high end location. Some clients have complained about troubles with management and the condition of their apartments, but with the newly remodeled kitchens and 24 hour maintenance policy these concerns should no longer be an issue. Set in a very convenient location, High Plaza is located near so much, residents can walk almost everywhere. The property features five different floor plans, at a variety of prices. The units feature great views, and helpful equipment. Rent ranges anywhere from $885-$1475. While the apartments have great features, they don’t feature that many amenities that are included, but residents move in saying they are happy with what they are provided with. Located in the heart of Shadyside, Rutledge Hall is near all the great shopping, transportation, and entertainment that the area has to offer. The three different floor plans available come with a variety of sizes, great amenities, and many utilities included. Rent ranges anywhere from $965-$1645. Some residents however, have found in the past that parking can be difficult for those who do not have a reserved parking spot; which some residents can’t afford with the additional fee. However, for those who feel they are in the right price range for Rutledge Hall, it has been found a very clean, and nice place to live. Franklin West Apartments Shadyside are in the heart of the Shadyside neighborhood. As such, it possesses a high level of convenience for those attending the University of Pittsburgh or Carnegie Mellon University. Franklin West is also very close to a wide array of shopping locations, such as Target, Giant Eagle, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Staples, and others. The complex is not far from a number of public transportation lines, so getting wherever you need to go should be pain free. Tenants can get their fast food fix at nearby McDonald’s or Subway. All in all, reviews of Franklin West have been positive, praising the location and quality. Management has been a bit of a concern, but not enough to dissuade many residents from renewing. Located close to many major roads and bus stops, as well as offering University shuttle service at your doorstep, Devon Towers is conveniently located so it’s easy to get anywhere you need to go. With three different floor plans and different prices available, Devon Towers units feature amenities, and storage areas for their residents. Rent ranges anywhere from $1060-$1620. Some residents in the past have said that the one problem that they have had is with their heating and air conditioning, but the issues they said weren’t enough to give them an unpleasant living experience.
