Review for Rosemont Apartments

My wife and I moved to Rosemont in 2006. Although the complex was far from a showplace, we liked the managers and still like most all our neighbors. The neighborhood isn't that great, but we've never had any serious problems except for some drunks at an adjoining complex who partied until the wee hours during the summer. In September, Rosemont was sold to a guy from Lafayette and a guy and his wife from San Anselmo. They try to hide behind a limited liability company, but we know who they are. Their first official act was to fire the managers who were responsible for filling the place to capacity with decent, paying tenants. The dude from San Anselmo tries to run the place by cell phone now and it clearly isn't working. Maintenance -- particularly cleanliness of the parking lot -- is beginning to suffer. We fear it will only get worse. He apparently doesn't plan to have on-site management, opting instead for a current tenant to serve as a rent collector only. He apparently had no coherent plan whatsoever when he took the place over and it shows! We're going to try to hang on until spring, then consider moving if conditions deteriorate. Pros: Decent price, accessible to shopping and transportation, nice neighbors, gated. Cons: rough neighborhood especially at night, not enough parking, new owners cutting too many corners.
