Review for Vintage At Hyland Hills Apartments

I've had it with this place!!! I moved here because it was a cute apartment in a good location. I have regretted my decision every day since. First of all, the parking is awful. Unless you have a garage (which is an additional fee) you have to circle around the building for forever to find a spot. And good luck if it's after 6pm, you won't find anything. Once I had to park in a handicap spot because the weather was really bad and I got a ticket for $120 within a couple of hours. That's what the cops are good for, giving tickets. I thought it was a safe area because there is a police station right across the street. It's worse! My car was broken into and my cd player and expensive GPS were stolen. Not only that, there have been several apartment breakins, so many that the apt held a neighborhood meeting about it. The management is like a Nazi regime. They have stupid rules and they will not bend them for anything, whatsever. For example, after I picked out an apartment and paid my deposit I brought my family to see it but management refused to let us go inside because it was "not ready", even though I had already paid for it. One time I got locked out of my apt and it was below zero outside and I barely made it to the office. When I got there I was visibly shaking from the cold and Sharon, the worst of them all, almost did not offer me a spare key. And she insisted I give her a form of ID to get the spare. Well good thing I had my work ID on me otherwise I would have been stranded in the cold! (By the way, Sharon is the one with really long, brown hair. This is a wig! I felt better when I found her little secret out). Another thing about management. They will suck the money out of you with all of their ridiculous fees. They say we are lucky to have "valet trash" services. Right! If we violate the valet trash rules and leave a trash bag out during the day we get charged $20! The worst is if your rent is late. They charge you $150-$200 if you are late, even if it is an honest mistake or your leg is cut off or the world is ending. They don't care. You have a few days to come up with the extra cash or they send the case to court. Now that's what you call friendly management! THANK GOD my lease is up in 30 days. I can't wait to get out of this hell hole. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PRETTY EXTERIOR! This place is overpriced, unsafe, poorly managed, and every resident will tell you there is insufficient parking. I hope you don't make the same mistake I did.
