Review for Garden Brook Apartments

Everything from the mall,to great schools, to Walmart are very accessable to theses apartments. I love the location! That being said, there are a few minor issues with living here. First, the apartments are OLD! everything seems to be falling apart! Several nobs etc have fallen off in my hand. None of the window/door screens fit properly so don't open the windows or patio door for fresh air unless you want to share your home with wasps and other pests! The kitchen floor feels like I might fall through to my downstairs neighbors apartment any time. The floors and walls are not insulated which makes this a terrible place to have a family. The neighbors WILL complain! I've had the police visit my home because of loud noise "like a video game" which was actually the tv commercials. The volumes vary from show to commercial and appearently it was booming through the floor and into the neighbors living room on a low volume setting. Needless to say we can't listen to our stereo here or use our surround sound for movies. There is a small bit of noise. Every morning around 1:30 the garbage truck makes it's rounds. I can't tell if it's here or nearby but it's kind of annoying. And if you live in the back the maintenance area "beeps" in the morning which is also very annoying. Now for one of the other issues... There's no assigned parking. It can be a witch with a capital B'! If you live straight back you will have to fight for a relatively close parking space! If it's Friday or Saturday think carefully about leaving and coming back, you may end up parking near the office which is about halfway into this community thanks to discourteous visitors. Sorry if you have groceries or a baby and /or small children. This can be positive depending on wether or not you're a glass half full/ empty kind of person, due to bad landscaping if you live in the back you can experience living on the waterfront. When it rains a nice little lake develops in the yard and covers the side walks for a relaxing ambiance. On a more positive note, the manager here is very nice and helpful and remembers who you are. She's very personable and friendly also. If you have kids they will love her and always remember who she is because she always has a treat for them in her office. The pool here is nice. Its salt water.(fyi:If you've never been in a salt water pool, its kind of like swimming in sweat. You'll get used to it though!Lol) You will often have it to yourself or share with just a couple of other residents. There aren't a lot of children here or if there are they don't make much noise outside. Overall its Pretty quiet and I feel safe living here.
