Review for Briarwood Apartments

My husband and I moved in here the weekend of the flood in 2008. We had a terrible experience with the on site manager. She was never in the office so you can never pick up your packages and then would take forever to get things fixed. Our air conditioning was broken for a whole week in the middle of the summer. I just had a baby and had to come home from the hospital with my new baby to an 85 degree apartment and it was 95 degrees outside. We told them 2 days before we left the hospital that it was broken and when we came home it still wasn't fixed. We ended up having to stay in a hotel until it was fixed. We were not reimbursed or even given a pro-rated rent for that month. On top of the air conditioning breaking, in the year we lived there our water heater broke twice, and the tub cracked and leaked water into the apartment under us. Another downfall is the electricity bills. The buildings are so old that you have to keep your air conditioner/ heater running constantly because the insulation is terrible. The air/heat just goes out the window... literally, the windows are not insulated well either. Also, when you move out be prepared for them to charge you for carpet cleaning and for cleaning your apartment even if you leave it clean. This was the worst renting experience of my life. Do not live here!
