Appeared To Be Nice But Once I Moved In, Lots Of P

I lived here for a year, and I feel fortunate I got out when I did because I spoke to a current tenant who stayed longer than she should have and things had gotten much worse than when I left. The apartment was newly constructed and very spacious but the poorly constructed. The walls were thin and poorly insulated so you hear the noise from the nearby interstate and your neighbors as if they were in the room. There was ample parking there but as tenants moved in, the apartment complex started towing the cars of guests of tenants which caused bad blood between the management and residents/tenants. The management was not good at handling noise complaints and there were constant changes in the office staff and manager. In the 13 months I lived there, the manager changed 3 times and the policies changed without notice. The biggest problem I had was that a resident moved in below me (I was on the 2nd floor) who was very noisy, playing loud music until 2-3 am, and there was a lot of traffic coming in and out at all hours of the day. As a student, this was frustrating and my noise complaints to the manager were unheard so I had to call the police. I guess the resident below was an unsupervised teenager who was making and selling meth. Finally, I got permission to move into another apartment, and after packing everything up and transferring my phone, cable, and utilities to another unit, I was asked to put down another deposit even though they still had my old deposit for the intial deposit. I was so upset about it that I signed another lease with another apartment complex and moved there instead. The rent was initially cheap ($515-535 per month) but after I moved out, the rent increased to $600-700 a month. The other disadvantage was that the cable, phone, and internet were all through Qwest and I hate the customer service from Qwest. I don't like it when the apartment signs an exclusive contract with one service company because you don't have the option to find the cheapest service for your needs.
