Review for Hampton Court Apartments

Under no circumstances should you live here.
I had a roach infestation which was never resolved (thus prompting me to move out). The maintenance is shoddy (there's one maintenance guy for all of the apartments and he also does everything else) so he can't fix your leaking faucet or your leaking roof expediently.
The rent is really cheap for a reason. the apartments are very old and have not been updated. The kitchen is tiny. The noise level is unbearable. I could hear the person above me when he woke in the morning, turned the radio on (I could hear the songs clearly), when he would walk across his apartment, and even when he would lock his door. Also, there is a lot of police activity around here so it was not uncommon to hear police sirens.

The building's fire alarm went off at inopportune times throughout my stay there. 2-3 times I was woken up by flashing lights outside my window (fire trucks). The place itself is very shady as well. There was a police standoff this summer (July 2009) with Lawrence police surrounding one of the Hampton Court buildings till they arrested a man that lived on the 3rd floor. (this is the building that is on ridge court/24th street.

Find a different part of town! and a different apartment complex unless you would like to live with roaches, and shady 'characters'.

Completely agree. This place is horrible and so is the surrounding area. Not safe for college students at all.
