Review for The Elms At Germantown Apartments

I lived in the Elms at Germantown for 1 year in a 2 bedroom with loft & sunroom. When I first looked at the apartments, they looked nice and well kept up from the outside, and the inside looked nice as well. After I moved in, I discovered that just about everything (carpeting, doors, soundproofing, etc.) in the apartment was of extremely low quality and not worth paying $1810.00 per month for. The carpet looked clean at first, but it is so cheap that after the first week all of the stains from the previous tenants started coming through, even though it had been steam cleaned before I moved in. Parking was extremely tight. The parking spaces are too narrow to get a car door completely open and I was tired of getting my almost brand new car dinged by inconsiderate people. Apparently the Elms at Germantown have lowered their requirements for letting people move in, as during the year I was there, many people moved in and then back out within a few months. Groups of teenagers would hang out on the steps and did not want to move when I needed to get up the stairs to my apartment. I expect a certain amount of noise from living in an apartment, but every time a door closed, it reverberated into my apartment. I definitely do not think that this type of living is worth the money they are asking. I have since found a nice (and larger) townhouse for less money than I was paying at the Elms at Germantown.
