Review for Sunrise Village Apartments

When we first moved in to our 2 bedroom, 750 sq. ft. apt, everything seemed to be alright with the complex.. Didn't notice much wrong with the unit as far as appliances and condition go (taking into account that the buildings were built in 1979). The majority of residents seem to be under 30 including college students and low income single mothers. The floors seem to be thin and poorly insulated as we can hear every noise the residents above us make, including their TV on low volume, etc. I'm sure that every unit in the complex has the same issue. Management has ignored 2/3 of our maintenance requests including a week that we had no hot water in the building for more than 2 days. Residents are allowed to smoke in their apartments and our living room will smell like an ash tray from 7am - 2am most days (even though neither of us smokes) due to the low quality door framing etc. Bottom line is if you're looking for a lower end apartment as a college student and don't mind quite a bit of noise and don't plan to need management help with anything, the units themselves are actually quite comfortable and in decent shape. I will say we are looking forward to the end of our lease as one year has been quite enough in Sunrise Village..
