Very Nice Place That Was Unfortunately Poorly Cons

There is no security patrol...not sure why the questions didn't differentiate. Anyhow, the area is very well maintained by staff - no garbage flying by (at least not more than 24 hours) and the grounds are well lit and maintained. I never feel see any "undesirables" hanging around (unless you count teens from time to time) and we've been notified once this summer of car break-ins. I also don't walk around the area at night so there may be more going on than what I'm aware of.

I am writing a review after having lived at Woodbury Park for close to six months. The apartment was nice and clean when I moved in and the lease information was in order. The leasing staff was professional and friendly. The only drawback is when I call during office hours, the phone goes unanswered or to voicemail. Since I work during the day and am usually not home on the weekend, it makes me wonder if their posted office hours are accurate.

Anyhow, I've had to submit two maintenance requests after I first moved in and they were taken care that same day. Granted, they were smaller issues, but I was quite impressed by that.

I haven't used the pool, but it looks as though it is well-maintained. Although I'm a smoker, I will note that it appears as though smoking is allowed by the pool. Saw some ashtrays sitting out in the patio area. I have used the fitness center. It definitely isn't a Y or anything in that league but there is sufficient equipment to meet the basic needs. Two exercise bikes, one stair climber, two treadmills and one weight contraption that allows for several different exercises. There are also tvs mounted (you need a long headphone cord) as well as VCR players. There is also a women's/men's room with toilet and shower. I haven't used the tanning bed but it appears that it costs money to do so.

The apartment I live in is the "Bayport" model. It is a nice layout and the design makes it seem more spacious than it is. I had to buy more furniture so the place didn't seem so bare. The only issues I note are with the stove (there is rust on the inside of the glass...weird) and some of the stairs leading up to the bedroom are angled strangely. Kind of lopsided. There are some of the things you'll find as a renter, of course, patched walls, etc. But they are barely noticeable. I noticed because I was trying to decide where to put holes for the pictures I was planning to hang.

The appliances are current and sleek. The appearance is neutral so it allows the renter to design their own space easily. However, since my move in, I've found other things...drain in shower drains very slow, the smoke detector batteries all had to be changed. Livable issues, I guess.

The only real negative comment I have about this place is the construction. It's really a shame because I really like the townhome I'm in. You can literally (I am not even slightly exaggerating) hear EVERYTHING your neighbor says through the shared wall. I feel like I'm the third person to my neighbors' conversations and the only thing that separates us is a thin wall. So to combat that I run fans in my bedroom and living room, which helps muffle the conversations. The worst part is when the neighbors take their 90 lb dog outside for a walk. That creates quite the noise disturbance to say the least! Fortunately for me (not the dog), the dog is kenneled most of the time so I rarely hear him. I could go on about the noise issue but that would really be venting. I suppose I'm lucky that I don't have neighbors with small children!

Overall everything is fine with the exception of the construction. And for that reason I would not recommend anyone live here unless you feel like you'd luck out with neighbors who are hardly home or ones who always speak in a whisper or you just plain don't care.
