Review for The Mansion Apartments

Like literally, horrible. Here is a run down of problems my fiancee' and I have had since moving in to the apartment in March...

1. You can literally see daylight around both our front door and our balcony door.

2. The air conditioner barely worked at all and certainly didn't cool the entire apartment.

3. Now that it's cooling down we have just found out our heater blows out colder air than the air conditioner did. Seriously.

4. Our neighbor upstair's EVERY step can be heard through our ceiling. His EVERY step.

5.(The worst) Some vandals stole the tags off of our car's license plates, not once but twice. We complained to management about it and what did they do? They had our car towed for being improperly tagged. It wasn't until we threatened legal action (and me mentioning that my dad is the Captain of the police department) that they agreed to pay to have our car towed back. But we still were not allowed to have it towed to the apartments- we had to keep it at my fiancee's step-dad's house.

6. I had my purse stolen out of my car. It had only been in there for literally less than five minutes. When I alerted office staff they couldn't seem to care less.

7. One day I came home from work to find our balcony door partially open (which we don't lock but always close up behind us) and some weird trash on our living room floor. My fiancee' found cigarette butts in his ashtray outside that were not his brand. When we asked the staff about this they asked how they were supposed to know if someone entered our apartment.

8. Some prakster peed in one of the dryer units in the laundry facility (which is NOT locked by the way, ever) and I had to report it twice in three weeks before it was ever taken care of. Sick.

So in conclusion-
Safety: Obviously people go around entering apartments in this complex when they don't belong there and stealing is not taken seriously.

Parking: About what you'd expect at any complex (although the broken down car that was taking the front space up for about six months wasn't towed and ours, which ran, was towed for NO reason)...

Appearance: The grounds are obviously the only thing they care about. They are beautiful. The buildings are quite another matter.

Office Staff: Don't even get me started. These uppity snots are incredibly rude once they've gotten you to sign the lease, couldn't care less about problems and literally look at their watch anytime you walk in the office door.

Maintenance: I guess they don't feel that fixing crumbling cobblestone stairs is a job for maintenance workers...or rust stains trailing down the walls...or wasp nests in the corners of exterior hallways...or pee in dryers...

Condition of Unit: Not really that bad, at least ours wasn't. The interior was clean but everything in it is fairly old and cheap.

Noise Level: Tolerable. It's just that our neighbor upstairs is a jerk. We haven't complained about him though. Not that big of a deal.

Overall: DO NOT let pretty trees and grass distract you from everything else. It's the staff, I think, that truly makes these apartments so much less than what they could be.
