Review for Stonecroft Apartments

No expect peacefulness here. If it isn't the kids or neighbors, it is the heating and plumbing making noise.

The fixtures are, at the minimum, 20 years old or older. There are no instructions given for any appliance, including the heat system. If you ask, they assume you are an idiot.

Maintenance requests are handled well although some maintenance personnel need a personality. I was promised that the maintenance man would bring something the next day; I waited nearly 2 weeks for him to show.

AC unit is placed in a room that has no obvious flow to other rooms; the master bedroom remains hot all summer long no matter how high the AC is set.

Neighbors like to play games with your hot/cold water when taking showers. They seem to think it is hiliarious. I finally found a way that keeps their laughs at a minimum -- set the water between hot and cold. It may seem obvious but it isn't with the antiquated fixtures.

There are no closets; there are spaces no more than two feet in depth to hang your clothes. Storage space would be helpful. You get one closet in the master bedroom with 1/2 the space in the second bedroom.

However, there is hope in sight. This development, as well as Beechstone and Colonial Pines, was sold to a much larger corporation. They promise to replace all the appliances (stove, refrigerator, and microwave -- although my apartment doesn't have a microwave); replace all the cupboards; and replace all the fixtures. They "say" it should be completed in two months. I'll hold my breath.

Find another place to live. Their brochure is outdated and does not give an accurate protrayal of the apartments.
