While my apartment itself is rather nice, the location leaves something to be desired. It's an incredibly ugly building with a lobby which looks like something out of a horror movie, complete with non-functional fountain with rusty statue. All of the "Safety" lights in the hallways are decorative, and have never come on during any power outage while I've resided here. Then there's the crime... There's a lot of that. Always lock your car, your balcony (even on the 2nd and 3rd floors), and both locks on your front door. Also, don't even bother receiving your mail here. Mail fraud is incredibly prevalent and the FBI is frequently by to bust people for stealing mail. Just get a P.O. box.

The office staff is nice, well, he's nice when he's there. Good luck with that.

The noise level is very variable. the walls and floors are particle board, so you can hear your neighbors above you walking, and your neighbors beside and below you very clearly when they're talking at very reasonable volumes. You'll learn to filter it out. I'd advise that you buy a loud stereo so you can alert your neighbors when they're playing videogames (he's also the office staff person) incredibly loudly at 2AM on Monday night that it might be time to use headphones.

Of course, the real icing on the cake is the mold, cockroaches, and fleas. I've had to commit a full scale chemical assault on my apartment since renting here. Bleach for the mold (it never actually goes away, but you can keep it in check), cleaning + poison for the roaches, and chemicals for the fleas. Big issue is, regardless of how clean you keep your place, they will eventually find their way into your apartment again from the more disgusting depths of this place.

So, this place sucks, but it's better than most of the other places in Rochester. Good luck, and my advice is "move to Dover".
