Review for Manor Inn Apartments

First of all, I love the character of the apartments at Manor Inn. No two apartments are quite the same, which make for interesting and unique layouts. The whole process to "get in" was kind of intense: they actually called my previous boss and made my husband give them a official transcript from his college.
Living there was very nice: always a place to park, great neighborhood & location, very nice neighbors who were never loud, etc. However, thats the "love" part of the relationship. The only thing to keep in mind while living here is the maintenance, Old Building aspect. The windows are originals, so be prepared to deal with that in your heat/AC bills. Some of our windows didn't actually close. And the "window" in our bathroom was more of a plastic filler. The bathtub really needed to be replaced and was constantly mildewing no matter what we did (the maintenance only offered quick-fix repairs). I know thats just part of a (very) older building, so hopefully this doesn't come as a surprise....Oh, and be aware that fire alarms are a constant. Fortunately as of yet they have always been false alarms, but somehow they usually occur very early on the weekend mornings.
As most tenants will do, I am writing this review while I am in the process of moving out. (While I love the apartment here, ours in particular does not have a balcony/porch and I love yards too much!) They gave us the letter & forms to notify them of a lease decision two days before they were due. I tried to get an extension because of their late notice, but could not get one. Since we have decided not to renew our lease, we are bound to let Leslie & Assoc. show our home to strangers with only two hours notice. I was a little shocked by this. I would have thought that an owner would try at least a little to accommodate current tenants.
Overall, I loved the Manor Inn Apartments. But do be prepared to deal with a bureaucratic real estate agency...
