Review for 82 Magnolia Apartments

It is really hard to make a review for this apartment because our feelings are so extreme depending on what we're looking at. We LOVE the location, the neighborhood and the physical appearance of the apartment and community. The complex and surrounding area are beautiful, our apartment is spacious and full of light, and we feel like we are tucked away somewhere very quiet and remote. At the same time, we are literally within a 2-3 minute walk of shopping, doctors, theaters, restaurants and other conveniences (post office, drycleaners, etc.). There is also a bus stop right in front of the complex. The residents are very diverse and international and the staff is very friendly and knew us from the moment we moved in. (They know which apartment we live in and we never have to reintroduce ourselves when we approach them.) What drives us crazy is the slow, slow response to things we need to get done. We put in a work order over 2 weeks ago for a number of repairs and so far they have responded to only one of them (and that ended up falling apart after being fixed). They say "We'll be back tomorrow to finish" but then forget to show up. There was one thing that I needed done within 24-36 hours and they did send 2 people over within the hour. I think that if you are very SPECIFIC and detailed about what you need and when you need it, then they may respond more quickly. From the moment we put in our rental application, I found them to be passive and lacking initiative. You need to keep asking if you want something done. They're sweet people; they just don't seem to have much common sense with regards to work. Regarding my "recommendation" of this community, I would recommend it because of the location (convenience, excellent schools) and space (this apt had the largest square footage I had seen of the apts we visited). The service can otherwise be annoying. It just depends on what is more important and what you are more willing to put up with.
