Review for University Commons Apartments

University Commons is tempting because it is relatively cheap. It has a lot of problems however. The management makes up costs when you move out so they rarely give back deposits if you are the last to move out. There is a tow truck circling the parking lots even when empty so having friends over can result in them being towed even if they just drop by for a minute. Maintenance is terrible. They maintenance people are not trained to fix anything so hot water heaters remain broken. Furnaces continue to leak when air conditioning. Maintenance replaces the ceiling tile but does not fix the leak though. Maintenance is well intentioned but incompetent. Most apartments have four bedrooms which makes the little kitchen space and living space too small for so many people. The building are built very cheaply and noise travels easily. There is little insulation so heating can be expensive particularly if you get a room with a leaky window which can make it quite cold all winter long. Some of my room mates needed space heaters to deal with their freezing rooms despite the main living area being heated.
