Review for Woodridge Manor Apartments

In our conversation, she indicated that the studio was 476 square feet, with three closets, an enclosed balcony, and abundant counter space in the kitchen area. She said I could not view the space until a few days before moving in. A floor plan was not available, and it was extremely difficult to get the leasing agent to accurately and thouroughly describe the apartment.

At the invitation on the leasing agent, I looked at the apartment from the outside, and found that the outside square footage would make it impossible for the apartment to contain more than 450 square feet.

The balcony at the rear was not enclosed, the apartment appeared to have only two closets, and the kitchen appeared to be extremely small with no workable counter space.

When I called to discuss my concerns with the rental agent I was met with hostility, and was told I could simply cancel and forfeit my deposit of $150.00. She insisted that the apartment was indeed 476 square feet. I explained that this was not physically possible, and she asked me to cancel, and forfeit my deposit.

When I explained that she was leaving me with no choice except to contact the Better Business Burea, and dispute the charges on my credit card for the deposit as fraud, her manager interrupted her, and told her to return the money and end the conversation.

I am extremely concerned that this management company is misrepresenting their apartments, while taking deposits they say are nonrefundable. If I had been less familiar with credit card laws and dispute processes, I would have been left paying $150 for an apartment I was not allowed to view or verify the stated measurements until it was too late to properly cancel the agreement without extreme loss of time and money.
