Review for Somerset Park Apartments

We were the first to move into our building. It all boils down to the good the bad and the ugly. The ugly #1 Bugs. Hundreds and hundreds of them. It took management 4 months to get rid of them. Winter kept them away but now they are back..May 07. The management has done nothing so far this year to get rid of the nasty little critters. Ugly # 2 The master bath toilet was clogged with concrete. It took them 4 weeks to have the toilet in working order. This was after having to tear up the ceramic tile on the floor and to replace all of that after the toilet was reset. Ugly # 3 the guest shower was painted with latex paint to mask holes from ladders. That took 3 weeks to fix. That meant we were without one fully functional bathroom for a month. The management made no effort to knock anything from our rent to compensate. Ugly # 4 The AC went out the week we had 100 weather last summer. Four days of 100 plus degree heat with no AC was cruel and unusual torture. Managment had to import someone from Richmond to fix the problem. Again, nothing deducted from our rent for this inconvenience. Ugly # 5 I have a 5 pound pooch that has to pay rent, we had to pay a pet deposit and I want to bet dollars to doughnuts that I will not get any deposit back because of the outrageous check out requirements. Bad # 1 Daylight streamed in around our front door for months before management got around to fixing the problem and then it took them close to another month with mulitple trips to remedy this. Bad # 2 the workout room is only assesible from a back door that is not lighted. After dark this is a scary place to be. Bad # 2 The rent deposit box is also on the back of the building where there is no light. Bad # 3 Speaking of no light, half the time the out door lights in the walkways do not work at first dark. Bad # 4 My natle is still crooked after 1 year of residency. Bad # 4 Have I mentioned the bugs are back? Bad # 5 ... let's talk about the management. THe first one was fired. The second was is a teenage girl that does not know what she does not know. She is totally incapable of thinking for herself. She can take direct and follow orders but that makes things difficult for the residents to have anything done. Like getting rid of the bugs. Bad # 6 The rent is going up. Bad # 7 The washing machine chewed up my husband's white cotton underwear multiple times before the machine was replaced. The Good ... Good # 1, our lease is up and we are moving out.
