Life is for living and 33 years of living at Mayfair has made me near everything that makes my life special, church, job, and friends. Come join us. My move-in date was June 5, 1978.

I've been living here 2 years and Mayfair has been the best apartment complex I have lived in since moving to Birmingham. I work on 280 and traffic can be a nightmare, but I never spend more than 15-20 minutes trying to get home. The staff is down to earth, the property is clean, and safe (There are Homewood Police that actually live on property). I also really like the laminate hardwoods and stainless steel appliances - not many apartments in Birmingham have either. This will be my last apartment in Birmingham...

Mayfair staff is the best I have seen in my apartment rental history. As a student, I have lived in several different places and I have been most satisfied with Mayfair. They are affordable, pet friendly, safe, located in a great area for jumping on main roads, and they have the nicest managers. If there is a maintenance issue...which is rare...they will be there ASAP.

Mayfair Chateau Manor Apartments offer a relaxing environment right in the heart of Homewood. It's location is unbeatable and I never have to worry about my safety. The new style and updates of the apartments give a comforting and warm environment. I live in a one-bedroom apartment and I have plenty of storage and space. Everyone is friendly and my needs are met upon request. I wouldn't live anywhere other than Mayfair

I have been at Mayfair since June of 2009. I could not have had better service from the front desk staff and maintenance crew. I have lived in both a 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom. The apartments are newly renovated and were very clean both times I moved in. There have been staff changes in the office, but the current staff are great! I have made 3 maintenance requests since moving in and each time they have come the same day are the request to fix the problem. The location could not be better. It is walking distance to the Lakeshore walking trail and a short drive to Soho Square, Mountain Brook Village and Brookwood Mall.

The management is awful. It takes them FOREVER to repair things in your apartment. Also, the apartments were were very cheaply remodeled. It looks like it took the contractor all of five minutes to remodel the place.

The new management company that purchased Mayfair is making many new additions and renovations, but is it really worth the cost? Many of the residents at Mayfair are elderly individuals that have been living here since the 1980s. Now these individuals are being forced to move because of the rent increases that come along with these upgrades. For example, a woman in one of the apartments was paying $570 on a month to month basis. The new management has now given her three options: Pay $770 a month on a 7 month lease and receive limited upgrades, pay $950 per month on a month to month basis with no upgrades, or pay over $1000 per month for a full remodel on a 12 month lease. This woman is now being forced to move after living in this apartment for nearly 20 years.
The investors in this management company are in this business to make money, but they should consider whether or not this is an ethical way to practice business.
