Apartment Review for The Parc At Cahaba River

If you move here you will regret it with every bone in your body. They sucker you in with some stupid special and make you think you are getting a good deal, but you better read the fine print on your lease. If you do get in with a special and just happen to buy a house before your lease is up like what happened to me, you will have to pay out the ***. When I say out the *** I mean it. You have to forfeit your deposit, you have to pay a month's rent (at market value, not what your rent is with the special) and you have to pay back every single dime of consession that was given to you. It is costing me around $5,000 to leave this crapy place with only three months left on an 18 month lease. I have been here almost 3 years and this is thanks I get for living here and referring 2 people to live here. DON'T MOVE HERE. Once your in, your trapped. They don't keep up the air filters, the trash is always overflowing, the pool is too crouded with people who don't live here and the chairs at the pool are crap. Not to mention there is dog crap everwhere because they let people walk their animals everywhere including the playground, where I would not dare let my child play. My neighbors are nothing but college kids who play their music way too loud and the walls are paper thin. Don't plan on going to the bathroom without your neighbor knowing. Speaking of the bathroom, the toilets in this apartment are always backed up. I have 2 other friends that live here and the same thing happens with theirs. The movie theatre, don't be fooled, it's nice, but you can never reserve it because they let the same people reserve it all of football season so there is never a Saturday night available until after the new year. I hate this place I wish I had never moved here. If you have kids this school system sucks. I moved here thinking I could send my child to Cahaba Heights like they advertise in the Apartment Blue Book, oh no, these are zoned for Gresham & Shades Valley High. Why would I ever live on 280 and send my child to Shades Valley. They lied to me when I moved in and I was stuck here and I had to get another apartment in the correct school zone and sublet it so that my daughter could attend the school I wanted her in. I cant' stress enough. DONT MOVE HERE. <P>
