We have a new manager and she is rude. I went to pay my rent and she doesn't even speak. The maintenance guys are really lazy. The walls are too thin. People cars get broken into. Neighbors complain about every little noise. You cannot live a good life here. Dog poop is all over the place.

I moved here from Ohio. I rented a very luxurious apartment that was practically a penthouse in Ohio for $975 and it was noise proof, luxerious, completely gated throughout, the gate WORKED, you used an opener on your key chain versues an outdated punch in code THAT EVERYONE HAS. There were 3 entrances and exits with Security at each entrance. ALL apartments were completed renovated when rented. CARPET IS OUT!! Unless requested, all units had hardwood beautiful floors. Updated light fixtures. I felt I got what I paid for. Sweeetwater is RIDUCULOUS FOR THE PRICE. Our apartment was being cleaned as we moved in, out carpet was dirty and worn and they would not replace it, the painters sprayed over the corners of all the carpeting, and the screen on the patio was still allowing for thousands of bees, flies and other bugs to get through to our patio. I love dogs, but residents leave their dogs on their patios to bark all day and night and it's quite annoying when the dogs are larger and bark louder at absolutely NOTHING. Where I lived in Ohio, they allowed pets and had a "Pet Section" which was in the back of the complex where the pets had more grass and walk area. Residents HAD to pick up their pets droppings. Sweetwater has poop all over and residents just keep on walking without picking it up. Our huge tub in the master bedroom is useless because if you want a hot bath, you barely could fill it up quarter of the way and the water is cold. My vehicle has been broken in twice and all they could say is to organize a neighborhood watch. We pay enough to have security and cameras. The same cameras they have in their gym room and laundry areas. They definitely make sure noone vandalizes their gym or laundry area but don't give a damn about their residents apartments and vehicles being broken into. I love Alabama, but these apartment complexes have a lot to learn. If you think this is luxury..you are quite mistaken. WE ARE A MILITARY FAMILY AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD ON BASE NOT TO HAVE OUR FELLOW MILITANT FAMILIES WASTE THEIR MONEY HERE. Go rent at the new The Crossings up the road on 14 just pass Wal Mart. They are updated with stainless steel and beautiful light fixtures. If you can move to Montgomery, Vaugh Lakes is way better and worth the money. Sweetwater is a joke. This is not worth the money at all.
