I love living at Campus Way. My roommates and I have met so many people here and we've even become friends with most of the staff. Its so affordable and worth it.

When I came in to sign my lease back in April all of the employees were SUPER nice! Out of all the other apartment complex in Tuscaloosa I would have to say they have the nicest and most respectful staff. Anytime I ask for something it gets done as soon as possible. I wished to transfer from a 4x2 into a 2x2 DLX and on the day it was time for me to transfer into my new apartment the place was SPOTLESS. A few of the maintenance guys were kind enough to help me move into my new place.

I have never heard of any crimes being committed in the months that I have lived here but your safety isn't guaranteed anywhere. I feel safe when I'm at the gym, the computer lab, or just walking the property itself.

Anytime I put in a work order it is always taken care of within 24-48 hours and I have never had to request for the same work order more than once. I have met all of the maintenance guys and they are some of the nicest and most hard working guys on the property. From the time of move out (July 31st) until move in (August 19th) I have seen the Campus Way staff (managers, Community Assistants, and Maintenance) busting their butts to have everything ready. I understand that Campus Way cannot please everyone but they are the cheapest in Tuscaloosa (and the closest to campus) so you are getting what you pay for.

I have seen the model and even when I signed my lease, I signed a page explaining that the model has never been lived in and it never will be lived in. The staff clean the model everyday before they open and every day before they close.

I have never experienced any of the staff being rude or annoyed with me and their new manager is very kind and understanding.

I highly recommend living at Campus Way and I WILL be resigning for another 12 months for next Fall.

For $439 a month you get a decent sized room in fully-furnished a four bedroom apartment, with a $160 allowance for electricity (which we've rarely exceeded, and never by much) and free (basic) cable.

Avoid the Comcast salesmen on-site on move-in and deal with Comcast directly (at Whigham Place off of 69 south near Skyland Blvd), and you'll get a better deal ($19.99 for first six months then $29.99 thereafter, versus $39.99 from the salesman) on internet service, presumably for premium TV service as well.

It's all there and everything works; the downfall is that most of it sucks.

The interior design is bland enough to fit a communist stereotype, with white paint sprayed on everything being the maintenance tool of choice. Adding some color goes a long way towards making it less dreary.

I never saw the model, and had no expectations, but the apartment was quite dirty on move in, smelled like weed (way to impress parents...), and the carpet was badly stained. The shower molds easily and roaches/spiders appear occasionally (a common sight outside as well).

The new-style bed in my room is host to literally the hardest mattress I've ever encountered, but I like it that way; my roommates have the old style beds that are very soft and seem to give little support. The couch/chair is a bit hard and not quite clean, but it does the job, as do the chairs and (never used) kitchen island.

The central A/C is bare-minimum functional. It works (and maintenance was quick to fix it when it broke), but the fan barely moves air and it's prone to freezing up; rooms are cooled inconsistently as well, one room freezing while the other roasts.

The appliances (stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer) all work; other than being a bit noisy, I have no complaints.

Management seems to care little and, aside from the maintenance guys, borderline incompetent, but that has its perks. I park two cars (one with no permit) here with no problem, and have never been hassled about working on them. Things have broken, but they've always been fixed (if only partially) in a reasonable time frame.

Roommates are a gamble, but a certainty is the ghetto element that comprises some/much of campus way; plenty of loud music late at night courtesy of the big rims/big stereos crowd. It's not bad enough to make me fear for my safety, but it is annoying. My car gets broken into about every three months and the radio was stolen out of it, and some crackhead even went so far as to steal a $5 oil drain pan outside of my door.

My final verdict is that, for being the cheapest apartments in Tuscaloosa that aren't closet-sized dumps in the strip, or really ghetto places like 10th Avenue apartments or anything on 8th Ave NE, and for being relatively spacious with included appliances/furniture, Campus Way does provide a half-decent value for people like me for whom more expensive rent would be a serious hardship. That said, if you can afford it, there really is better out there for not much more.

I've been at Campus Way for about a year now an just renewed to stay another year. I'll probably stay until I graduate because this is the best place to live close to UA. It fits my budget, the staff is nice, and the apartment has everything i need. My apartment is furnished and I think they all are. The appliances work fine and once I brought my own things in that made it look a lot nicer. I understand that the property isn't brand new and so things aren't flashy but those other places are just too expensive. As long as the staff continues to be great and they still have the fitness center and I don't have any problems I'll stay here. I would recommend bringing a bike to ride to class or just riding the bus because parking on campus is crazy!

This place is pretty cheap but that's the only good thing. The apartments are horrible and the maintenance is bad too. Unless you don't mind living in a dump, I recommend staying away. I wish I had spent the extra money to get a nice place instead of signing my lease here. Plus the kind of people that live here are ghetto and cops have to come out constantly.

Campus Way has been helpful since day one. They have made me feel comfortable with this apartment being my home away from home. The staff in the front office are always willing to help in my times of need. Not only this, they have the cheapest rates around.I have renewed my lease and is looking forward to staying here until I graduate from the University of Alabama.

The apartments are conveniently close to campus and also coonveniently one of the cheapest apartments in the Tuscaloosa area. The price for the apartment includes majority of your utlilities and the apartment is fully furnished.

This is the worst place I've ever lived. All the people at the office are extremely rude for no reason at all. Everything in the apartment tears up at least once a week. They are not very clean. Thank God I'm moving out in August because I don't think I can stay here another year. I had a better experience when I was living in the dorms than over here. It sucks!

They are too unfair.. I don't like how they are making me move to another apartment in august just because I renewed my lease late. This is ridiculous. Wouldn't it make since to put the person they put in my place in the vacant apartment they are trying to put me in. Doesn't make any since to me. Other than that,, it's a great place to live for college students like myself!
