My Review Of Towne Square - Read

Thank you for looking at my review of Towne Square in Chandler, AZ.
Let me begin with saying that I am going to give you an honest review of this place. It’s not going to be filled with capitalized words and exclamation points, respectfully. I want to use this review to simply convey a level-headed, sincere review of this apartment complex that way that I have experienced it.
My roommate and I have lived in this complex for a little over a year and our overall experience has been unpleasant but bearable. There are many outdated appliances (microwave, fridge, washer, dryer), many of which don’t function the way they are supposed to. All the appliances will do their job, but they function at a diminished capacity. In regards to the maintenance staff, I find them very friendly, but the repairs they make are short-lived, not effective enough, or second-rate. I also have suspicions that many of them don’t know much about the appliances themselves – explaining why they may have trouble making any repairs.
There is a problem with cabinet space. If you have a lot of cookware, eating and drinking utensils, and place settings you will have a hard time trying to find a place for them all. The bathrooms are old, but they get the job done and as long as you clean regularly they will suit you just fine. I have had problems with bugs. Not with cockroaches, but with mosquitoes. When my roommate and I first lived here there was a serious mosquito problem. They would get in through the air ducts and when we would open the door. Between the both of us, we must have killed at least five every day. Strangely though, neither of us got bitten very often. I have not had a problem with cockroaches and have rarely ever seen any inside the apartment. I have had problems with black widows on my patio. Thankfully, I have never had them inside the apartment, but it will definitely make you want to double check everything at night if you wish to sit outside. It is true that the walls are very thin and you can hear the movements of your upstairs neighbor to an irritating degree.
In regard to neighbors, I would have to say that this has been the most challenging and annoying of all of the problems I have had with this complex. The first neighbor I had was very loud. He would play his music, music I don’t particularly enjoy, at unreasonably high volumes and would do it even when he knew I had company. Thankfully, he moved out. My upstairs neighbor changed on me and she is for the most part bearable but still not a very considerate neighbor. I suppose you could draw the conclusion that that the prices they charge for these apartments, which in my opinion is somewhat unreasonable but acceptable, will draw these types of people and it becomes necessary to have to put up with them.
The managerial staff inside the office is very sub par. They have been rude to me on various occasions even when I just went in to pick up a package the postman left for me. My roommate has had similar experiences. There is a landscaping crew that works every Friday to mow the grass, trim the trees, and sweep the walkways but this just results in more noise and in some ways just creates more work for the tenants that want to keep their patios and doorways free from debris. The water does get shut off strangely often for mainline repairs but the shut-offs usually only last for a few hours and the office has always given me sufficient warning.
In terms of location, there are many great day and night hot spots to enjoy within walking distance, but the grocery stores and other essential stores are not as convenient. I would highly recommend that if you choose to live here that you have reliable transportation.
I hope that this review has given you a fair look at what Towne Square is like. If you choose to live here, here are my suggestions: have a vehicle or quick access to transportation, get an upstairs apartment with north or south exposure (to keep out the summer heat), attempt to get a look at the apartment and location before you commit to see if it would be a good fit, get a feel for your neighbors (meet them if possible), and be prepared to have a few disappointments while you stay here. To finally sum up, my roommate and I will most likely allow our lease to expire and either get different places or get an apartment in a different complex. Thank you for reading.
