Apartment Review for Cantamar

I was a tenant of Cantamar Apartments for 4 years and just moved out, or should I say escaped, just 3 weeks ago! All I can say is THANK GOD I am out of that place! When I first moved in, this property was under different management and was a wonderful place to live! The property was kept clean and safe and it was a rarity to hear of any crimes taking place. Then Skywest Properties took over and it was all downhill from there. There is always garbage, shopping carts from the Frys next door, and animal waste all over the property! Nothing is done to enforce the law of picking up after your dog when they releaved themselves except, of course, for the cheesy monthly news letter where the manager basically shakes her little finger at the violators and that's about all that is done about it! So those tenants who do not even own animals get to smell and step in every one elses animals droppings! Lovely, huh?? Not only that, but once the current management took over and discontinued the security patrol that was in effect, you could take the tour of all of the expensive cars up on blocks with missing rims and empty spots where motorcycles once rested, unknown to their owners of course. Not to mention the tiny one bedroom that I just moved out of, which, by the way, went for around $725 a month, went 5 months with a non-functioning washer, dryer, and dishwasher! I had service calls in for these appliances and came home one day to a ticket on my door stating that these items had been fixed. Much to my surprise, not really, these items were in fact in the exact same non-functional state as when I left that morning! They never came back and they were never repaired! Nothing was ever done to fix anything and it took me breaking my lease and them taking me to court for them to FINALLY fix these appliances! And the only reason why anything was done about it then was because they needed these applainces to be functional for the next sucker they got in there! Actually, these appliances were so bad they had to replace them! I have rented apartments for YEARS and have NEVER broken a lease! Not until I made the mistake of moving into Cantamar Apartments, that is. So if you are reading these reviews because you are thinking of moving into this complex, DO NOT DO IT!!! RUN AWAY! Unless you like paying twice the price for an under-managed, unkempt, crime filled apartment. If that's your style, you'll love it there! Buyer Beware has NEVER been so true!!!
