Positive Apartment Reviews and Ratings
Bad from the start ( over a year ago )

The staff was very friendly and helpful when they showed the appartments. Yet once I put down my deposit, they kept changing my appt number. The day I moved in I had no hot water and they didn't turn it on for 4 days! There were other things in my apartment that were broken as well and it was obvious no one made sure it was ready. The manager is disrespectful and unhelpful. Also, recently they sprayed for roatches but it didn't help. I had also put work orders in that still have not been fixed. Personally, I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Our stay at Desert Gardens II was great. The apartment and grounds were clean, well maintained. Great heated pool. Had a problem with our dishwasher, notified office late in the day and they were prompt to come and look and had it fixed before noon the next day. The office staff are very friendly and easy to deal with.
We would highly recommend these apartments.

First let me start with the good. It seems to be a very secure place as far as security, cameras, and sherrif patrols at night. The grounds are kept up very nicely and the landscape guys are very nice and cool. Ummm what else is good.... The office staff is very kind and helpful. Maintenance use to be right at your door if there was a problem, but now they are lacking. I know of several people who have put in work orders and the stuff is still not fixed, including mine. The GM Karyn, well I just won't go there. The rules seem to keep changing and mysterious complaints are reported. If someone complains about you, whether or not it's true, they still write you up and give you warnings. One day there is one rule and the next day the rules change without notice. They use to be kid friendly, but that is slowly ceasing to exist. Unless you like to play Desert Garden approved activities, don't plan on doing it. As far as if I would recommend this property to others, I use to think I would, now I just don't know. Probably not if someone has kids. Well I have to answer the question on whether or not I would recommend, I will say yes with above stipulations and warnings. I still live here because of my job location, lack of money to move, I hate moving, and the deteriation of this property has gotten worse in the last year or so, so still hoping it will get better. Signing this Anonymously because I value no drama....

This is one apartment I was very sad to leave. I've lived a lot of places throughout the years and I have to say this is the first place I left were I really thought I would be missed. So many other places I've lived, I never saw the same person more than twice when I went in the office. Here the entire office staff rarely changed, always seemed happy to help and even knew my kids names. I wish I could get the same kind of service at my new apartment. If I ever find myself back in AZ I will be back at Desert Gardens II.

I transferred here from Desert Gardens and let me tell you, both offices have the friendliest people. When you come in to the office you don't even have to tell them your name, they know you and your kids. These apartments are quite a bit bigger and I LOVE having a washer and dryer in my apartment. I only have one car so parking is never a problem for me because it is assigned. There is a lot of uncovered parking for my guests, but sometimes they may have to walk a little ways, which isn't a problem because I always feel super safe here. There are two playgrounds for the kids and they are covered which is great because it keeps it from being too hot to use in the summer. You can sometimes hear your upstairs neighbor walking around, but I expected that living downstairs. I also love that they include so much. The only other bills I have to worry about are electricity and my cell phone. This place is great, I would recommend it to anyone!

I have for the most part been pretty happy with the staff at Desert GardensII. They are freindly until you ask them to do ther job. Like Fixing a stove that since i moved in broken. Noise, well just about every weekend my neighbors are heard and well, how many times does someone have to complain before they do something...and a guy who works there, lives next door! And then when they DO, do something its to the wrong place. But the apratment itself, well its pretty, clean, and parking is descent. I have never seen the patrol guy but, i havent heard or seen any crime either.

I have lived severals places in my time and I must admit that I have never been happier than at Desert Gardens II. I read the last review and I have to laugh. The person is unhappy because the internet is not real fast. I wish he or she would go live anywhere else in the Phoenix area. Try dealing with assaults, apartment break-ins and gunshots and then write a review. These apartments literally have almost no crime. Maintenance is right on the money. The apartments are in great shape. Most of my service requests are fixed the same day. Plus the gals in the office are fantastic. They know your name, ask you about family and really care. I am not just a number but a person. Try to find that elsewhere and you can't.

I think the larger of the 2 bedroom floorplans is good, but the floorplan leaves you a little cramped in the kitchen. The kitchen space has tons of cupboards, but you will need a small kitchen table.
The complex installed 100% new carpet or vinyl throughout and cleaned the apartment nicely. I found that the clothes washer only had hot water and made a work order. The next business day they fixed it. Maintenance has been timely and satisfactory. The ladies at the office have been most helpful and made me walk away happy.
The apartment comes with a small storage closet that houses your hot water heater. I have enough room for a bike, stroller, and some tools. Hanging a few shelves will really help with space.

After living in several apartments thru out my military career, I'd have to say that this complex is by far the nicest and well kept that I have lived in. Parking could use some better assignments in regards to your apartment location. It is extremely convenient to have high speed internet that this complex provides, although at peak times, it is a bit slow. The staff are not only well knowledgeable, but very professional and friendly. The monthly apartment newsletter is what I get a kick out of, its the first place that I have seen that forecasts events, oppurtunities, birthdays, and upcoming issues regarding the complex itself. It is also well placed in the local area, not too far from the Freeway, but far enough that it isn't a hassle to have to listen to constant traffic all the time. The fact that it is so closed to Luke AFB was my closing factor on choosing this place. I would rate this complex a 9 out of 10, because you get alot more than you pay for, especially the size of your apartment. Kudos and well done Desert Gardens II.

These apartments are brand new and very clean. There is a heated pool and 2 playgrounds for kids. Plenty of parking. It is close to the air force base but we dont' hear the planes as often as you would think. About 5 miles from the library, plenty of grocery stores, Target, Walmart, Applebee's, TGIF.
