I was supposed to move in on 12/2/2005. Newport was taken over by new management on 11/30/2005. The previous management, who seem to have a very interesting track record on this site, never had my apartment ready by the time the new management was in. So on move in day the new management explained the that when they took over the complex they had no way getting 6 move-ins taken care of in a matter of days. This really shows how poor the previous management was. The new management were curtious and understanding, but very stern and unwilling to cut any deals for this incident. I would hope this new management doesn't follow in the foot steps of the preceeding. <P>

I have read the reviews and have some thoughts.....
first of all we are responsible for changing our own lightbulbs. Second of all all apartment places have outside lights that burn out. ask them to change it. and keep on asking till they do. BUG EM ABOUT IT!
Sure they say the big screen will be changed out and its not working now but they mentioned that it was broken when we visited.
I think the place looks great, and I think all you all have a very negative attitude. and if you dont like it, then move out.
As far as rent checks, get a money order. There is always a paper trail. if you turn in your rent early, then there is less a chance of the office folks loosing it.
I am not an employee, or connected in any way to the complex just that I am a prospective tennant.
and I will NOT LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Newport Landing apartments are a fabulous place to live. It greatly surpasses the neighboring "Sun Rise Village" apartments and looks beautiful. Management is a lot better than what others seem to think, and security is pretty good as well. Besides your deadbolt, you have the option to add as many additional locks as you wish, plus they have overnight security as well as Glendale police patrols. People seem to complain about the credit and background checks and all that, but hey...do you want convicted felons for neighbors? Overall, it looks great, feels safe, has excellent parking, friendly staff, and outstanding 24/7 on-site maintenance. Two thumbs up! :-)

I just moved here a week ago and the other reports are true about what I have noticed about the management. They are so unprofessional-you have to call 8 billion times to have them fax something and when they get around to doing it they usually send it to the wrong number. They must not be paid on commission basis cause they really don't try hard to move people in. They gave us so much **** when we trying to get in here and we had a co-signer with over $90,000 in pay stubs. It was ridiculous. I tried to move in here a year and half ago (August 2003) and there rates use to be $750/mo for a 2 bed, 1 bath. Now its $650 a month for a 2 bed, 2 bath with a washer and dryer. Maybe part of that new management switch over. They lied to us about 24 hr swimming pools which seem to be closed at ten and they claimed the fitness room was also open 24 hrs. which I still have not verified. They never came to fix anything we complained about during our walk through, but I am glad cause I don't want them to steal my stuff. I used to live like 5 miles down thunderbird road at another apartment complex called north mountain village and that had a friendlier staff and good maintenance but the apartments aren't as nice as Newport Landing and there's lots of shady tweakers there too. So far my experience for a week has been positive at newport landing but I am sure it will go downhill real soon! I think I will change my locks so management can't get in.
