Apartment Review for Sunrise Village

I really liked this complex. Was very nice, with nice people. It was pretty quiet. If you have more then one car, forget parking. I love living here except for the fact that the rent has gone up almost $200 in the past 11 months. There used to be constant lack of hot water (was always being shut off) new management got that fixed during their crap load of renovations, new signs, painting the entirecomplex (chocolate and "crap" brown) use to be nutral and cheerful colors not depressing and dull, two giant water foutains that they don't keep enough water in and adding plants that are already dying. They even "upgraded" the insides, removed nice fans and lighting fixtures and put in crappy items (see "Unhappy In Hooterviulle" for more details. Like Storage? yeah right they took that to add a washer and dryer in each unit (in the outside storage area) and have added a "fitness room" They have changed the name of the complex from Sunrise Village to Verrado Park Apartment Homes. (whats a verrado? according to the web it is "Verrado is a modern community nestled in the foothills of the White Tank Mountains". (No mountains here)) I guess now that they added the word "home" they figure they can charge the amount of a house. I live in a two bedroom apartment that 11 months ago cost $600 and now costs almost $900. It is ridiculous. They said it was because they have had full occupancy for the past few months and said they might raise it again. I have already seen 3 apartments being cleaned out. If the rent is raised again, I am out of here. A tiny two bedroom is NOT worth almost $900. I've seen larger two / three bedrooms in the same price range as these small two bedrooms. <P>
