Our Review for The Coves At Newport

The Coves at Newport is located right across from Arizona State University West. The property offers students and staff a perfect location and an easy commute to the university. Rayner’s Chocolate and Coffee Shop, Calzona Foods Inc, and Cooper Door Bar are just some restaurants in the neighborhood. There are also a few parks that are placed near The Coves like Sunset Palms Park and Cactus Park. There have been some obstacles concerning management and a bug infestation, however the price of the apartments is beyond reasonable.

i would agree that the maitenece takes for ever....but ive been here for 2 years and i think its livable,i mean ive never seen bugs before so that must be on the other side near 52nd ave. im by the office and its pretty quiet around here, the kids are rude but they are kids. nikki is really nice shes the manager, however there was one gal named valuska or whatever that is dumber than dirt. the one thing that bothers me is our carpet wasnt new when we moved in and all the old spots that they tried to clean are now back and it makes my house look yucky and i live very clean. so its better than where i have lived so im not gonna complain. i am thankful to have a decent roof over my head.

I have lived here for four years and yes management has changed a few times and yes work orders sometimes take awhile, but the staff have always been nice and a few of the girls have stayed through the changes. And maintenanceare quick to respond to emergency home repair. I admit that it freaked me out when a lot of car jackings and a home invasion happened but keep in mind that it was around Christmas time and a lot of that happens everywhere around that time. And remember this community is an older one and there is no gates Like all the nice newer apartment complexes. Since new ownership has taken place things are a lot better. There is now security who rides around all night, landscaping is way better, towing comes right away when there is a car parked in someone else's spot or for an abandoned car. It's a decent place to live for what u pay. These are old apartments people....ur not gonna walk in and have all new appliances or fancy cabinets. Yes they should be clean and look good when u move in but I don't understand how people complain about all this and expect things to be perfect. I have had no problems except for a few cockroaches but had them come spray two weeks in a row and haven't seen one since. (I didn't even see one until my third year living here.) Some people are just dirty so bugs are gonna come unfortunately. But that can be anywhere at any complex.
I feel fine living here and feel comfortable. I just mind my own business and go about my life. Overall this place is decent and good for what u pay. I haven't found one other place where u can pay $544 for a one bedroom and it not be in the ghetto or look like a shack.
I love my apartment :)

Some people complain about the most ridiculous things I have lived in the community since 2006 and yes they have changed management a few times BUT the ladies in the office are always nice and professional and they respond quickly to work orders. there is absolutley NOT a roach problem I have not seen ONE roach in my apartment ever! but I am also a vert clean person which all people should be. Yes there is noise but its usually on the weekends for crying out loud we live next to a college campus come on! and yes there were a few reported break-ins BUT the office promptly sent out letters and it only was happening during the holiday season and I along with some other ladies in the office believe they were planned by shady residents! the coves are in pretty good shape your not going to get the amount of space for the price anywhere else and if I had one complaint it would be the Water I must admit the hot water does not last very long in the shower which is a huge pain that I wish they would fix but I have learned to take quicker showers I would rate these apartments 7 out of 10

It seems every couple months they have to work on the water system and we go hours and hours without water without them giving us any notice. I'm tired of it! Not to mention the recent home invasions and all of the loud music from disrespectful neighbors. It seems weekly that I have to park on the busy street because people take my assigned parking and the towing company does nothing about it.

Water was off yet again yesterday. I didnt even complain when it went out last month! This is so ridiculous.

I have lived for about 2 years because it is convenient to my job. I have been complaining about noisy neighbors with an abnormal amount of late night traffic for a very long time without any response. The new management seems committed to changing this as my neighbors are moving out at the managements direction!

The new management that has come in has really stepped up to the plate. We already see changes in the aparttment complex from landscaping to the caring staff. I am so happy that new management has taken over.

Thank goodness the girls in the office are staying. They have been great! I love my apartment. I have been living here for over 8 years. I have been through a lot of changes here, but it sounds like the new company is going to be making some great new changes.

I am currently a resident in this community, I would like to for warn any potiential renters of the risk there taking signing a lease. Within the last 2 months there has been a reported FOUR! Breaking 3 in home and 1 car breakin. I am very displeased as how the office staff is taking care of this matter, the community receives a notice on there door saying there has been a burglary but no follow up information and security has not changed one bit the office staff provide no information about the burglaries, and whats funny is I have been at the Cove for a year and up until recently I have felt very safe. I can only hope this information gets to the property management company and they increase the security for there residents, I really do not feel that is to much to ask but my complaints will also be sent to the BBB and any other programs or affilates designed to keep consumers safe and aware!

I recently just moved in here, i like it and i feel safe here. Everyone keeps to there self's and so do i. I haven't had any problems, besides when i moved in my dish washer wasn't working, but the maintenance guy came that day to fix it. there was tons of **** roaches when i moved in, they were sposto spray but forgot about it, so we went n bought stuff and did it out self. i haven't seen on since. but also there are roaches in the piping, which i heard was common around here. so we just keep are sinks & tub closed & plugged up.but over all the place is nice, and fine for 500 dollars a month. so i would recommended this to anyone.

Would I recommed it? No...it's not the BEST place out there by far. For the money...it's just fine. My roof was leaking when it would rain, and while it took a while to fix, I did get some money deducted off of my rent. As with most things, you get what you pay for. I have had no major issues, relatively quiet and surrounding neighbors were nice or kept to themselves. Just don't expect 5 star living for about $400 a month.

All I know it that I pay $415 for a one bedroom with a washer/dryer. What the **** do you expect. It's not the Hilton. If you want high class apartments then pay high class prices. I mean there are not drug deals going down and prostitutes roaming so that's ok with me.

I've lived at this complex for two years and it's gone down hill drastically in the last year. Office staff are impersonal and rude. My dishwasher has been broken since I moved in and maintainance has been out a few time s to look at it, but never fixed it. The sign above the office says "under new management" but new apparently doesn't mean better. It appears they're renting to ANYONE who comes through the doors now, and it has gone from a middle class place to downright "ghetto". I'm looking forward to my lease ending in a couple months so I can move on.

When I moved into this apartment it was absolutely gorgeous. The groupnds were immaculate. The owners ceased to maintain the grounds and are delinquent in debts (phone disconnected). I am going to proceed to fight the owners because they are now delinquent in paying deposits also.
