Apartment Reviews for Valencia Crossing - Mesa

Formerly Orange Grove Apartments, Valencia Crossing is located in the heart of the east valley with easy access to US 60 and Loop 202. Walmart and other shopping is nearby. One former tenant stated that new management fixed the parking lot, lights, building numbers, signs, repaved the pools, and put out new furniture in 2011. This same tenant reported some of the of difficulties other reviewers mentioned with chronically malfunctioning appliances and air conditioning, in addition to slow maintenance. Other reviewer concerns included difficulty with the extermination policies and procedures. Overall, the major benefit of the neighborhood was the LDS ward and proximity to the Mormon Temple.

I signed a 6 month lease with Valencia Crossing and that lease is almost up, so I am getting ready to move into a new complex, closer to work. Here are some pros/cons of my stay here:

Pros: we moved in during a time when the property was under new management. And this new management has really done a lot around the place! In my short time here, Valencia has fixed the parking lot & lights, building numbers, signs, repaved the pools & put out new furniture. When we moved in, they also named other things there were going to do around the complex soon.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me.

At the time I write this, covered parking is not assigned. And my fiancé and I have never had issues with parking close to our door nor have our guests had problems finding a place.

Cons: our apartment has some problems on the interior. The dishwasher hasnt worked since the first time we tried to use it. We reported it and nothing. Same with one of the burners on the stove. The closet also didn't have a rod, so we put one in ourselves. The a/c is faulty in our apartment. Sometimes it doesn't turn on! We reported it and mantainance came out, but the problem still exists. And it also hardly flows into the bedrooms! The screens are also not the right fit for the windows so if we open the windows, there's a hole between the frame and the screen, letting whatever inside!

I don't know if maintaince has just been extremely busy these past few months but they are slow to respond! We called multiple times on our toilet flusher being broken back the first week we moved in and after hearing "they'll be there within 2 days" too many times, we gave up. Kid you not- they came 3 months later to fix it! And as I've said before- there are things we reported to the front office before that were never addressed.

The neighborhood surrounding the complex isn't all that nice to look at, either.
