Apartment Reviews for Casa Santa Fe - Scottsdale

I have lived here for 17 months and I must confess I have absolutely no complaints. The few minor service requests that I've had in the past were addressed in a timely fashion. Can't say much about the management team as the turnover seems to be, as usual, pretty high. As others have mentioned the dog poop seems to be a problem every once in a while and that is attributed in my opinion to the fact that most apartment complexes, for the sake of high occupancy, are marketing themselves as pet friendly. Personally I would change that policy if I only could, but being a country obsessed with pets that we are I guess that is something we all have to live with.
I would like to advise those of you that actually get to read these comments not to read too much into them. As a leasing consultant I can tell you that in most cases residents are unreasonable with their demands and expectations and more often than not they don't bother to read the community policy or procedures before they sign their leases. One good example would be the "breaking the lease" issue that one member wrote and complained about. Most people do not understand that a rental agreement is a legal binding contract, it's a financial commitment not to be taken lightly, and getting out of your lease is not as simple as giving a 30 day notice. Another issue that was raised was rent increases and MTM rates. Most people are not aware of the fact that renewal rates more often than not ARE negotiable. The time lapsing between a move-out and a move-in can cost the owners thousands of dollars in turn-overs expenses, leasing agents commissions, marketing and so on, so retention plays a big part in a management teams success and ratings, therefore in most cases they will be willing to negotiate the new rate. MTM rates however are never negotiable and they are typically much higher than the lease rate. Think of it like buying an airline ticket in the last moment, they know you are between the rock and the hard place and they will always make you pay, it's just the nature of the beast. The MTM is always an option chosen by a resident due to a "situation" and therefore there is a price to be paid just the same. I hope this helped.
