My roommate and I thought we were getting a great deal when we moved into Lakefront a year ago. Little did we know what we would have to deal with.
The management staff (for the most part) is incompetent, rude, sullen, and lazy. We had a flood in my roommate's closet a couple months ago and it took them an entire day to come to our apartment to fix it. Meanwhile, her CDs, movies, and camera were ruined and we got no compensation. When we moved in, there were broken cabinets and a dishwasher that had been vandalized before we moved in. It's been a year, and neither of these problems have been fixed, despite constant complaints.
A week ago, we were informed that the management wanted to rennovate our apartment and that we would either have to move to an already rennovated apartment in the complex or leave when our lease expires at the end of April. Turns out they didn't actually have any re-done apartments for us to move into, so we are basically being evicted from our home so that they can put in new carpeting and counters.
The buildings are ugly, the elevators are disgusting, and the residents are loud and rude. The "gym" closes ridiculously early (I went to work out at 9 one evening and it was closed). The movie theater that was promised to us back in June is nowhere to be found.
The lighting in and around the grounds is ridiculous and almost laughable. Coming home late at nights is a scary experience, especially for a single girl such as myself. Parking is a joke and the only thing I've ever seen our one security guard do is kick some quiet swimmers out of the pool around 10 pm.
While the apartments were a good deal a year ago, they are now grossly overpriced. You can find a much nicer apartment for less money anywhere else in Tempe. Please, do not rent an apartment from these people. They don't care about you or any of their other residents.
You will regret it, trust me.
