Lied to about amenities. There is no "pool side wifi" it NEVER worked and I tried almost daily because there is also NO INTERNET availability. Something they lied about when I asked "what are the internet options here?"
Utilities "included" means you're going to get a nice big bill for utilities and not even know it. Its is not "included" as per the plain meaning of the phrase. Apparently they sign you up for stuff without your consent. Imagine my surprise to get hit with all those extra bills.
Cops were here almost nightly.
People lived 3-4 in a studio f'ing apartment with pit bulls.
Drug use is abundant.
Loud partying every night in the pools.
Cars stolen from parking lots.
People parking in your spot, if you tell the apartment managers they don't do anything. Cannot get anything towed because they won't give you anything in writing as to where your spot is.
Fighting, we have not left our apartment numerous times because of fighting outside out apartment.
Frequent 4am loud music that wakes everyone up. When you pound on the tenants door to ask them to turn it off be prepared to 1) get in one big a$$ fist fight and possibly shot or 2) ignored.
Naked babies living in the bushes. Yes, kids are allowed to run around naked and freely here. I can't count the number of times I had to ask random kids to stop pounding on my windows when they were playing our cat that likes to spectate the world from the window sill.
stray cats, hundreds of them come out at night.
Cockroaches - everywhere
Theft - don't plan on using your patio or balcony. If its there when you go to sleep, its gone in the morning. Except trash, I never could get thieves to take out my trash for me at night.
Water turned off daily without notice, "yeah we're working on that it'll be back on in an hour." My clients love it when I don't shower for work.
Was told about a "Reduced price gym membership across the street." Across the street is 4 miles away and the "reduced price" is that "monthly special" which is offered every month.
Hot tubs useless. Most of the time they are empty. When they are full there is so much chlorine your eyes will burn and they are useless anyway.
Lurkers watching you swim. If you're a girl be prepared to have homeless people watch you swim. Since the grounds aren't fenced off you'll be the center of attention for any creep without anything better to do with their life but watch you. Yay!
Parking lots gates broken. Anyone can come in. Its no mystery what the 4 digit gate code is at 1311 West Baseline. Also the electronic name display is broken. Smith reads something like " . :_ =|i " Good luck with that. Here's a tip I'm " -* f ` ~" on the list. I'll buzz you in to check out the place.
"Business Center" should be renamed day care. There are 2-3 computers in there which can never be used because there are kids playing in there unsupervised. Since no internet is available in the apartments, I absolutely had to grab something online in the "business center" and couldn't make the 20 minute drive in to work for it. I got the kids to move for a minute but literally had dirty shirtless kids climbing on my chair trying to sit on my lap. Every other time I tried to use it I waited 10-15 minutes and gave up.
"Nightly security" as promised turned out to be this in the lease "we do not maintain security." Excellent!
I must admit there is a "pro" to living here. That being you will appreciate life so much more the second you leave.
Oh and don't believe the "we're new management now" because I lived there during this "new management."
