I lived there from Aug 2000 till Jan 2007. It was an okay place to live. It was nice having a washer and dryer right there. Sometimes the gym was forgotten about .. what happened to the TV? People frequently left trash in there and it wouldn't get cleaned for days. Always dead lights ... at one point there was one working light in the ceiling! A few times in my last year or two there the pool became very green. Even when it was looking a bit cloudy, nothing was done until it was fairly green.
Around summer 2005 dance-dance-revolution must have moved in. Every flipping night there was loud tub thumping music until 11, 12, 1 or whenever it they felt like turning it off. That was a major pain.
I never had issues with the office people. Though a few times (twice over 6.5 years) a package would arrive and they would fail to notify me. All versions of the office staff seemed really nice. Apartment issues got delt with fairly quickly. Except once when my AC died at the start of summer and they said they "fixed" it but did nothing. That was a hot, sweaty night.
I couldn't stand the landscaping people. Always at 7 am with their damn left blower right at my window. I was on the ground floor and it was damn loud. I felt they did nothing but kick up more dirt in my place, and leaves into my patio.
I did have my place broken into once .. they came in through the patio. At the time I was just locking it from my built in lock. But that was easily gotten around. The complex installed a peg into top part that stops the door from sliding which I then used every single night .. not out of any fear but precaution.
The water was pretty nasty, but that is Tempe and Phoeix in general. The shower always had hard water stains and calcium build up, and the tub quickly turned black with mildew which needed a brillo pad to scrub away! As far as drinking water, it was really nice to have a reverse osmosis machine by the pool .. although a few time it must have broken down and nothing was done for about a month because the water that came out still had that Tempe tap flavor. BLEK!
Dog poop was a bit of an issue .. if you have a dog, you get to pick it up!
The apartment is pretty dark without bringing in your own lights. My place faced south and only in the winer when the sun was low did I ever really get a lot of sun in my place.
I did feel when I moved it nothing was cleaned, or just lightly cleaned. There was this odd circular stain in the rug near the kitchen that I just lived with. Along with a few pen marks on the walls and stuff.
I'd recommend the place for a student to live in .. but not a family or anyone else. Get something better.
