These apartments are the most overpriced units in Tempe. Biggest complaint is the noise. It's right by the airport so you're interrupted every two minutes when a plane flies over. In addition to the planes there are train tracks right next to the apartment and every train blows the whistle every time they go by. The noise from the 202 is pretty bad as is the traffic on Washington st. To top it all off construction on the light rail starts around 4 am and it seems like a car alarm is always going off in the parking lot. The walls are paper thin so I always knew what my neighbors were watching on TV. Needless to say, I never got a single good nights sleep while I lived there.
The construction of the place is really cheap and things were always breaking. Doors always came unhinged, appliances were never working and the elevators were constantly out of service. It once took the repair people a week in the middle of summer just to replace a blown fuse on my AC unit (which doesn't work well anyways).
Security is another problem. Cars were always getting broken into while I was there, even in the garages. The gates were always broken and even though they have a security guard he was usually asleep in his car. There's also a lot of vandalism as well.
The black widow infestation was another thing that bothered me. They basically took over my patio and I was constantly finding them in my apt. The office didn't think it was a big deal and never sent anyone to spray.
The only thing I liked about this place was is was close enough to bike to ASU and Papago Park. However there are plenty of other apartments around, and I'd seriously recommend you check them out before moving to Trillium.
