Apartment Review for Meridian Corners

The only good thing I can say about this apartment is that we've never seen any bugs. <P>
We've lived here for two years, and they have raised the rent more than $100 in that time frame, and changed management companies also. The "4 sparkling pools" are rarely open; the one closest to us has been closed more than open the whole time we've lived here. Although the advertise the business center, I don't even know how you use it. <P>
The people in the office are not very friendly, especially when there is a line in there. They often cannot find our packages we have slips for, then months later (literally) find the package and tell us, "it's been here a long time." They refuse to cooperate with you regarding re-leasing and negotiating a rental rate--their figure is the bottom dollar, no matter how long you've rented here, that you've never been late on rent, etc. <P>
The maintenence I think is just overworked. We've had people come the same day and also waited more than a week. One day our air conditioner was literally dripping, and they never came to fix it, it just stopped dripping. <P>
Parking is UNCOVERED, and if you're here after 5 p.m., forget about getting a spot anywhere near your front door. Our license plate was stolen off our car one day here, and one day I came home from school to find the SWAT team busting an apartment that was growing drugs; military police guys EVERYWHERE with big guns. <P>
The outdoor storage is really nice, and the closets are good-sized, although "walk-in" is not quite true if you have anything in them, including clothes. The water has gone out several times without any warning, and no polite response when I call to tell the office. Our hot water has also been shut off without notice on more than one occassion. The office doesn't give notice (except for a small note on the office door) when they make changes to their schedule to be open during holidays. There are way too many layers of paint on all our walls, and our carpet has stains that must be in the pad b/c although we've steam cleaned, it still looks nasty near the front door. <P>
I did recommend this place to some friends, regretably. The staff treated them very poorly, changed policy with regard to the date rent was late without notice, didn't fix things when they requested. and generally were rude to them. I would never recommend them to anyone else and we're moving out next month! <P>
