My family has decided not to renew out lease for various reasons. It may be worth noting that our intent was not to remain here longer than six months in the first place. However, because of our experience, we ended up moving out early and maintaining the lease simply because breaking the lease would have been a larger liability.

The Good: Honestly, this is hard to come up with. It provided shelter for my family. I guess that is all you really need.

The Bad: - Management: A new company took over control of the complex this year and they have been very difficult to deal with. They are not very efficient managers and they make very poor decisions.

- Apartment: Cabinets and drawers kept breaking a lot. Maintenance would "jimmy-rig" a solution and it would often break again in a few weeks. Sliding glass door lock break regularly. We started to fix that ourselves each time because getting maintenance to help you is very difficult.

- Maintenance: If you want maintenance to come, be sure to call about two or three times and they MAY make it in a week.

- Noise: Noisy neighbors never dealt with even after several complaints from us and other neighbors. This includes calls to night security and police. Partying through the entire night several nights a week is simply unacceptable. Management didn't seem to agree.

- Parking: One spot, often no where near apartments. Very crowded spots and very few guest spot. You will be cited if you even park partially on a line -- good luck.

- Gates: Very rarely closed at night. There is no point to having an entrance card. Now, sometimes the gates ARE shut and during the weekends, the back gate is NOT opened for some reason. It makes no sense.

- Satellite Dishes: If you can't point to the south sky from your porch, no satellite for you. You cannot mount the satellite anywhere and everyone who have a sattelite on the roof is now in violation of the law. Not sure where this law came from, but you can't sand bag on the roof either. So, Cox only. I wish they told us this before we payed Quest several fees. And no, Harrison Park did not cover those fees.

- Pool: Management often chains the pool area locked without notice for repair/cleaning, but they use staff maintenance and office people to do the work and pool maintenance often falls behind.

Summary: All in all, a LOT of people moved out at the same time as me and very few neighbors moved in. Believe it or not, some of those folks are already set to move out also.

Now to give them credit, I think the management is simply inexperienced. They are learning a lot and they seem to be trying to make things right. They aren't doing it the best way, but they are learning. I wouldn't recommend moving in any time soon, but maybe in a year or two, the place will be nice.
