Review for Oakwood Apartments

I lived in Oak Wood Apartments from Jan 2004 to May 2006. my vehicle and apartment were never once broken into and i felt safe. The parking was decent, I never had a problem parking in front of my building. The apartments certainly don't look like a dump, but not dazzling either. The management was very freindly and professional at all times. No rip offs here! Mainenance often fixed problems before I knew of them and always fixed everything right the first time. My apartment was in good condition. I had a total of three closets in a two bedroom flat. The kitchen was a good size. It does tend to look darker in the living room because of wood paneling coving up the walls, but not a big deal to me. Because Jackonville is in the south there will be bugs. the contractors who spray for them are not effective. However I found that plugging in sonic insect repellers in each room and planting roach trapps in each room reduced the insects by 99%. The apartments were very quite, however just like any apartments you can sometimes faintly hear a neighbor's stereo or tv. Overall I liked Oak Wood Apartments and would recommend living there. (2 bedroom apartments run about $450 a month) I moved there from the base dorms and would recommend it to those people.
