Review for Verandas Apartments

• The apartment complex is OK, though the buildings are a bit old.
  
• There is a kids play area (very safe) and very good for kids. It is a cushioned base so kids dont get hurt falling off
  
• The row of apartments facing the freeway gets a lot of freeway noise. But others are ok.
  

The unit:

• Each unit has a mini stackable washer dryer, which is good, but the small size kept getting to me.
  
• But the washer-dryers are old and inefficient, so your utilities bill is going to be high
  
• Kitchen range is gas -- good
  
• Large living room and patio -- good
  

The Mgmt

Here is where there are issues/concerns.

• The assistant manager - Marilou is quite nice and is on top of things. But unfortunately, she cannot do much because all authority is with the manager (see next section)
  
• The new manager - Berenice is quite rude and unprofessional, non-accommodative and non-cooperative ... you get the idea. So avoid dealing with her, if you can. If she ever returns your call, you must have won a lottery.
  
• Issues with the manager can be taken up with the Portfolio manager of Prometheus - Jeff, who can resolve issues quickly and amicably.
  
• Maintenance requests are attended to quickly (if Marilou took the request).
  

Bottom Line:
Reasonable place, except for the current mgr.
