Review for Country Club Villas Apartments

I lived in this horrible complex for 2 L-O-N-G years. I don't even know where to begin-with the cheap peeling cabinetry, the termites and mice or the consistently overflowing, squirrel infested, highly inadequate dumpster areas. No matter what I did I couldn't keep the rodents out of my storage area and the stench in there when I moved in was unbearable. I was constantly cleaning it out with bleach, etc. The previous tenant had been evicted. The window sills and bathroom fans were filled with termite feces that landed in my hair when I was cleaning to move out. This is a level of infestation the manager HAD to know about, especially when buildings across the street were often being tented. My air conditioning unit was full of mold inside and had to be 10 years old. CAN YOU SAY SLUM LORD??? People around me were always moving in and out.

Maintenance there was a total joke. They never wanted to fix anything when a tenant was at home (even during business hours). They always wanted "permission to enter." I found this highly suspicious, so I started booby trapping my front door and sure enough, it was tripped quite often. Every time it was I would ask my neighbors if they had seen or heard maintenance in my place and every time, they had. I am a single, middle-aged woman who lived there alone. No one else had a key to my apt. The single woman who lived above me for a short time had the same experience. DOESN'T THE MANAGEMENT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER HER EMPLOYEES? They put closet doors and shower doors in upside down. The kitchen faucet leaked under the sink long after I was told it didn't and the hose for the sprayer was installed wrong so it could only be pulled out about 4 inches. I spent over $200 to hire a plumber to put in a decent faucet and left the old one on the counter when I left. The toilet guts in the apartment above me were installed incorrectly and their toilet flooded my bedroom, ruining a $900 mattress set. When the guys who couldn't speak English came in to fix the damage my Thomasvile furniture was scratched and damaged and they left the carpeting and windows dirty. I learned from other tenants that this had happened with the toilets all over the complex. The "controlled access" gate was broken every other week. The indoor/outdoor carpeting in the mail area was ripped and wrinkled and people were always tripping over it.

Last but not least the tenant's mail was shared with the management!!!! On three separate occasions I entered the leasing office to pick up deliveries to find the mail lady showing stacks of mail to Chris, the manager. No, this was not "Does this person still live here?" The conversations I overheard were "this is the mail your tenants are receiving" BEFORE it was placed in their mailboxes. THIS IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE PUNISHABLE BY LAW. When I started receiving my mail at a PO box to protect my privacy I was literally chased down the office sidewalk one day by the mail lady asking if I was moving. What business was that of hers and why should she care? I had properly changed my address with the Post Office.

The laundry room was open 24 hours but between the washers and the dryers there were always 6-8 machines out of order and the tenant was expected to call the repair people! People were always putting signs on machines that were broken for months at a time that said, "fix me." The room itself was filthy. Dust and grime hung off the ceiling fans that also didn't work.

I could not make this stuff up, it's too bizarre. For your family's health and safety, rent somewhere else.
