Review for Emerald Place Apartments

If you aren't really concerned with appearence or service and just need a place to crash between class and work, this is a great place. There are a number of students here, and they're all very happy. The families who live here, however, are less than impressed for a number of reasons. The noise level is bad, not only because the 3 bedroom and some 2 bedroom units are next to Fulton Ave but because of people coming in at all hours blasting their car stereos or throwing +10 people parties in the parking lots. There are a lot of unsupervised children roaming the parking lots after school and during the weekends, ranging from 5 to teen. Be prepared to find a few dents and dings in your car from them.

There has been a lot of theft in the complex recently, ranging from cars having their tires and rims stolen to the whole car being taken. This is due to the fact that the front gate is frequently broken due to people 'nudging' it open with their cars. When they say it's a gated community, you kinda expect the gates to be working... totally not the case here. Furthermore, while the complex does employ security, they circle the parking lots and then head off to the other complexes they 'secure'. Don't expect anyone to see anything around here, and don't expect the management to care... it's just the culture around here, I suppose.

As to the grounds, it's really a day to day thing - some days, the place looks fantastic. Others, you can't take a stride without stepping on a broken beer bottle or broken glass pipe. The groundskeepers do the best they can, but really the place just gets to bad too quickly for them to be effective.
