First off, I believe the apartment's management company should be sued for misrepresenting these apartments. The initial sales job is amazingly deceptive. The apt staff is very friendly and will happily show off their demo-room apartment. There is one apartment that has been professionally decorated years ago and is by far the best one in the entire complex, this is the one you will be shown. Somehow this one room is supposed to show you a room similar to the one you will be staying in, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

Once you have moved in, you will understand why they don't want to show you around the real rooms. The apartment complex has been taken over by drug dealers and low life criminals. Sure there are a few professionals scattered about, but they are most likely trying to escape as soon as possible. Ending your lease early is amazingly expensive, the lease states that if they don't find someone to take your room, they will just keep charging you until your lease is up. I have lost count of how many friends I know who have moved out of this craphole only to see their entire security deposit disappear. I mean $400 for cleaning come on! Yes, some out there will point out that is illegal and they cannot charge this fee, but the staff is not too bright and so the burden will be on you, the renter to point this out. I would also like to add, that an apartment complex where you have to be well versed in California rental law to protect yourself from never-ending new fees, is most likely not a place you want to stay.

The staff is very rude and is run by a bunch of high school drop outs, they are condescending and stupid. Nice combination, no?! It takes multiple complaints to get anything fixed and the only notices the apartment staff do send out, will be about some new program or fee to screw you over. I mean seriously have you ever lived in an apartment where they charge you separately for hot and cold water?! I had to threaten legal action to get a few of their new fees removed, so dont think just because you signed up for one monthly rental rate, that will be the rate you will be paying for sucker. Furthermore, the parking situation is a nightmare. You are provided one spot and if you need additional parking you will have to join the line of cars driving around endless looking for a parking spot. The second issue with the parking is that enforcement is spotty and not consistent. Some cars are towed immediately and other people seem to be able to park in the middle of the road or in front of a fire door for days without getting a ticket. Oh yes, and there is the minor issue that your car will likely be stolen or broken into sometime during the night. My first car was stolen (never recovered) and my second had over 400 dollars of damage when someone tried to steal the car. This complex is advertised as a secure environment and it would be if any of the locks actually worked. On any given day, at least half of the locks are broken and I have lost count of how many people have driven through the large steel gate that leads to the parking structure. This should be a warning sign in capital red letters to all potential renters; some of your fellow neighbors are so freaking high on meth and coke, that they just drive through steel gates in the middle of the night. You have been warned.
