We moved from out of state. My spouse moved in prior to me joining her. The paperwork and leasing agent, manager etc.. knew that my spouse would be going between two locations to get our possessions and move it in. She had some things in the closets, clothes, suitcases, personal things for daily living, bedding etc... While she was out of town and the staff was aware with all the information on the lease and verbally (she went into the office to inform them that she was leaving to get everything ready to return) with spouse. We had the apartment for 3 weeks already. Upon my spouse returning with relatives who live here locally she was unable to get into our apartment. She had to stay with relatives. When she called the office the next day she spoke with the leasing agent that signed us up. Without any explanation she recognized my spouse and immediately transferred her to the manager. She was very abrupt and de-meaning. My spouse informed her that she could not get into the apartment and had flewn in alone to start her new employment and needed to find out if the lock was broken? She indicated that they had put a 3 DAY NOTICE AND THEY HAD NOT HEARD FROM US THEREFORE THEY EVICTED US! I WAS IN SHOCK!!!! SHE TOLD HER THAT THEY KNEW THAT I WAS GOING BACK TO OUR HOMETOWN TO GET SOME THINGS AND THAT SHE WAS LIVING ALONE UNTIL I JOINED HER. SHE TRIED TO TELL THE MANAGER THAT THEY KNEW HOW TO GET AHOLD OF US AND WE HAD NO PHONE CALLS TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF US. She had informed them in advance of the recent trip YET THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION. COME TO FIND OUT THEY SAY THEY PUT THE PAPERS TAPED ON THE DOOR. NO REPONSE AND THEY SAID THEY THREW AWAY ALL OUR NEW AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THE APARTMENT HAD ONLY BEEN SLEPT IN I NIGHT......MANAGER INDICATED THAT THE 1ST MO. RENT WAS LATE AND THEREFORE THEY HAD MILITARY PERSONNEL THAT WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND THEY STILL PAID THERE RENT ON TIME! My spouse cleared it with the office as to her return and they told her they would take her payment when she arrived to avoid mailing it? We now have a EVICTION ON OUR CREDIT AND WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RESPONSIBLE. WE DID NOT GET A ATTORNEY AT THE TIME AND DECIDED THAT WE DID NOT WANT TO PURSUE IT DUE TO THE MOVE IN PROCESS, NEW EMPLOYMENT AND GOING THROUGH GRANDPARENTS RIGHTS, WHICH WAS MORE IMPORTANT AT THE TIME....THANK GOD...WE GOT INTO A PLACE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.....
BE VERY SCARED TO LIVE IN A PLACE THAT THE BOTTOM LINE IS NOT BECAUSE THEY CARE IT IS THE BOTTOM DOLLAR $$$$. We have lived and have friends in the area and they have problems with it being dark, unsupervised once the sun goes down, parking parking and parking.
If your smart you will not sign a lease....We need to contact-TURKO FILES............and expose mean people that take advantage of others!
