Ceiling fans in every room are (theoretically) a nice touch but apartments are quite hot in the summer, especially upstairs units, because of inadequate AC.
Apts are a bit overpriced for the area, so shop around. Check rates nearby like across the street especially. Management (which is elusive at times) will always insist that rents in the area are rising, but in fact they have levelled off and may be trying to gouge you. Ask for a move-in special (no application fee + 1 month free).
There is hardly any parking and inconsiderate neighbors double park, which management could give 2 turds about. Lately, they have finally started to enforce . But other than that, quick once a week patrol, there's not much security. Look for broken gates around the complex that remain unrepaired.
Be very prepared for bugs - I would insist you have management thoroughly spray before you move in (and give you proof). Either that or bring 3 cans of Raid which will last you a year. I highly recommend the red can. Keep windows closed at end of summer unless you want flying termites to move in.
You pay all utilities and then some, which always makes it seem like they are nickel and diming you. $25 a month to park a 2nd car for a 2BR? Trash? Hot Water? Sewer? Dumb.
The gym is old and really needs to be redone. Beware it closes by 10pm every night and sometimes you can't even get in there before that (like 8 or 9) because they foolishly lock up most if not all of the doors. I don't even bother to use it anymore, just go to my outside gym. Pool is not bad but nothing to brag about. Laundry rooms are OK though a bit pricey
Luckily they've kicked out a few immature / people in the past few months, but watch for a few iffy neighbors still around. 3 young loud girls just moved into the unit below and one over from me.
